GHRP-6 is an excellent peptide hormone; in fact, its benefits far outweigh many of the peptide hormones and growth hormone fragments on the market. GHRP-6 is not going to make you huge, it is not going to increase strength tremendously and it not a performance athletes best choice when supplementation is based on performance. GHRP-6 will always hold the primary benefit of promoting a healthier individual.

About GHRP-6
GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Hexapeptide) is a peptide hormone of the Growth Hormone class. The purpose of GHRP-6 is to increase the amount of natural growth hormone production in the body. Increases in growth hormone can be beneficial to anabolism, fat loss, recovery and general well being as well as serve possible anti-aging purposes.

GHRP-6 is a growth hormone secretagogue. It is a first generation Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide (GHRP) to be more specific, one of the earliest drugs of this class to effectively raise serum GH. This agent is an agonist of the growth hormone secretagogue receptor la (GHSRIa). It acts on these receptors in the hypothalamus and pituitary, which stimulates the release of growth hormone. Liver IGF-1 (Insulin-like Growth Factor 1) may also be increased as a result. Provided an ample dose is given, the resulting GH spike from GHRP-6 can reach supraphysiological (higher than normal) levels, although there have been more potent drugs of this class to come after it. This agent is still widely used in the sports community though, most commonly as an appetite stimulant, and to support muscle growth and fat loss alongside other drugs.

GHRP's are all based on Ghrelin, a gastric peptide hormone. Ghrelin is secreted by the stomach during times of fasting (between meals). It has activity in a wide range of body tissues including the brain and the sympathetic nervous system, the stomach, heart, pancreas, liver, and intestines, and even adipose tissue. Though its physiological effects are also diverse, this hormone is largely identified as helping to regulate food intake, body composition, and glucose metabolism. While all GHRPs are modeled after ghrelin, each has its own activity profile. Many are more selective toward GH elevations than the category's natural parent hormone.

GHRP-6 is an early GHRP, and not regarded as highly selective. Though it does trigger substantial increases in serum growth hormone, there is also spillover in other areas. For one, GHRP-6 has a tendency to mildly increase ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone), cortisol, and prolactin levels. This may result in some unwanted side effects, especially if these hormones go beyond normal values (see Side Effects). Note, these levels seem to rise less noticeably than with GHRP-2. Like ghrelin and many drugs of the GHRP class, GHRP-6 is also noted for stimulating appetite and gastric motility. The orexigenic (appetite stimulating) effects are among the most notable features of this drug, in fact, and generally more intense than GHRP-2 and other GHRPs. Unless diet is controlled, use of this drug usually coincides with a notable increase in caloric intake.

GHRP-6 effects
GHRP-6 can provide performance enhancing benefits, however it will show far greater benefits when used as part of a long-term anti-aging plan (Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)) or in conjunction with other medications used to enhance performance.

The off-season athlete should be able to make increased gains in size with GHRP-6 use as elevated levels of growth hormone will have an anabolic effect as well as help enhance the effectiveness of other drugs used, such as anabolic steroids.

GHRP-6 may be far more useful to the athlete during a cutting or dieting phase, but again only with a compound like Mod GRF 1-29 being used with it. The increased metabolism will help him lose more fat; in fact, fat loss should be far more significant with than without. Recovery should also be greatly improved.

Hormone replacement therapy effects of GHRP-6 include:

- Decreased levels of body fat
- Improved sleep
- Stronger immune system
- Stronger bones
- Healthier skin
- Improved recovery
- Increased energy (not due directly to use but due to other effects of improved health)

GHRP-6 administration
GHRP-6 comes in dry powder form and will require mixing with bacteriostatic water. GHRP-6 must be kept refrigerated after mixed. GHRP-6 will lose potency in less than four weeks after mixed.

GHRP-6 injections can be administered intramuscularly (in the muscle) or subcutaneously (under the skin).

Doses must be administered on a daily basis at minimum with 2-3 doses being far more optimal. Total daily doses may range from 50-500mcg per injection depending on individual need. If another Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH) is used, such as Mod GRF 1-29, the total amount of GHRP-6 needed will be reduced with a range of 50-150mcg per dose being optimal.

GHRP-6 must be administered when blood sugar levels are low. Food should not be consumed for 30-60 minutes after administering GHRP-6.

GHRP-6 side effects
The side effects of GHRP-6 should be similar if not identical to any growth hormone related peptide or hormone, and in most cases, should be avoidable or adaptable except in rare cases.

Some users may find slight irritations at the injected area (injection sight). In most cases, moving injection sites to other areas of the body will remedy the issue.

Some users of growth hormone products may notice a tingling sensation in their hands and or feet. This is most commonly associated with high doses and very high doses of growth hormone levels in the body, but it can occur even with low to moderate dosing in some cases. Most users should find this to fade as use continues but it may not in some rare cases.

The side effects of GHRP-6 can include a decent headache in some users due to a strong drop in blood sugar. Diet adjustments will often remedy the problem, but it's important to remember fasted use is the only true beneficial use. The side effects of GHRP-6 can include gynecomastia in very rare cases due to the peptide possibly increasing prolactin levels.
